We are very lucky at Harbottle School to be part of a community that is full of gifted people- authors, musicians, composers, artists, craftspeople, gardeners…who love to share their enthusiasm and skills with the children.
Our school aims to encourage all of our children to see themselves as authentic learners. For example, to be mathematicians, scientists, musicians, writers, historians, etc.
Our particular strengths are learning outdoors, thinking for learning, and music.
Our learning programmes cover the National Curriculum using this real-life approach, therefore encouraging life-long learning. Our local community models this as our school is used for adult courses and activities too, including sewing, exercise, and art classes.
We are looking to expand this further- any suggestions?
